Getting to Double Island Point from Rainbow Beach or Noosa
Self-drive or hire a 4WD vehicle

Great Beach Drive, Rainbow Beach, Gympie Region
Double Island Point can be reached two to three hours either side of low tide from either Rainbow Beach or Noosa along the Great Beach Drive. You’ll need to buy a beach driving permit online from Queensland Parks before you leave—make sure to check the tide times carefully because the beach isn't accessible at high tide. There are no facilities at Double Island Point, so you’ll have to pack your own food and drinks.
Take a tour

Kayaking with dolphins with Epic Ocean Adventures, Double Island Point
If you're keen to get the heart-rate pumping, hop in a kayak alongside the crew from Epic Ocean Adventures and check out Double Island Point as you paddle through the water. Keep an eye out for the dolphins and have a camera ready!
Make the most of the scenery and let someone else take the wheel by booking with Great Beach Drive 4WD Tours. This is the only tour operator with direct access to the Double Island Point Lighthouse, and along the way you'll be treated to spectacular views of our spectacular sandy shores and wildlife.
Head out on a hike
Lace up your walking shoes and make the hike to the lighthouse from either the north or south side of Double Island Point. On a clear day, you'll be treated to jaw-dropping views looking south to Noosa, north to Rainbow Beach and K’gari, and out to sea. Keep your eyes peeled for any whales breaching during their annual migration from June to October.
